Team: Yiğit Acar, M. Kadri Atabaş, R. Tunç Yaman, M. Cana Dai, H. Utku Karakaya
The context of Troy is more closely associated with its historical and mythical significance rather than its physical surroundings. In this regard, Troy represents the collective unconscious of humanity rather than focusing on its existing state. The objective of this project is to guide visitors on a journey into the depths of this collective unconscious. As part of this journey, the stages of archaeological production are showcased. Visitors have the opportunity to observe depots, archives, and restoration ateliers.
Furthermore, situated in a rural setting, the project endeavors to strike a balance between blending into the environment and serving as a museum for Troy, a globally significant historical site. The design maintains a humane scale by resembling a settlement-like structure above ground, characterized by a minimal and refined architectural language. It exudes modesty yet retains a sense of prestige.
